GOP kicks Rep. jeff Flake (R-AZ) off the Judiciary Committee
Edited on Sat Jan-13-07 06:06 PM by Idioteque
For those of you who aren't familiar with him, Jeff Flake is one of the most libertarian Republicans in Congress. According to Hit & Run, the Republican steering committee has decided to boot him from the judiciary committee because of, among other things, his strong support for earmark reform and a liberal immigration policy. Flake has also been a leader in reforming the farm bill and sugar quotas to make our trade with developing countries more free and fair.

This just shows you what the GOP really thinks of small government conservatives and libertarians. It's things like this that remind my why I'm a Democrat.

1. They still haven't learned anything
The November election proved that people were tired of their policy, but they still want to keep the same ways that the majority of people don't like.

2. Good. Ask him if he'd like to join a Party that would welcome his ideas!
I'd like to see the Pubs lose another House seat!

3. Well, sounds like the firsr libertarian who lives up to his beliefs.
Open borders and outsourcing are as free market as it gets, if you're a purist. However, purists soon become realist when they see it in action and if they're honest, they'll tell you that without government regulation, rules get made up along the way, anyways. Free market is just another name for chaos. And where there is chaos, there is graft.
