2. If I could just get every other DUer to buy a single copy
of any two or three of my novels, I'd be there with bells on.

As it is, I have to work.

:)

Wish I could be there, though...

4. I'm trying to work it out now... so I can go...
I'm in the process of looking up hotels in the area. I'm looking at rooms with 2 double beds and rates for 2 people... just in case someone needs somewhere to stay. I've read several posts on this where people would like to go, but need someone to split costs, rooms etc.. I'd probably stop along the way to pick someone up, too.... so longs as they didn't complain about riding in my SUV  ...

PEACE!

7. Thank you!
Any tips on what part of town I should be looking to stay in? I've been through D.C. once... it was 20 years ago, I was on the way to New Jersey.. got off the interstate to get gas... at 2 AM... wound up getting lost, but got a good tour of downtown.. it was strange being in front of the capitol and having hookers and crack dealers trying to flag me down... I definetly don't want to stay in an area like that

Thanks,

Ghost

26. Sounds good to me. Did you know this (from Wolverine):
>>LOGISTICS: Assemble on the Mall,
>>between 3rd and 7th Streets, at 11 am.
>>March will kick off at 1pm.
>>More details coming soon!
>>
>>I'm not sure if this is the same place as last time, since I
>>can't find my DC guidebook. :( But, if they want us to start
>>lining up at 11, we need to head out by 9. (not kidding)

So we need to make it early if we do meet for brekkie.

I have decide to fly in. 17 hours on a train there and 18 hours back just seemed like a waste of time. I would never be able to sleep.

Now I am getting into DC at 9:08am at Reagan on Saturday morning, so I will figure out how to meet up with all of you. I am staying over night and got reservations at the Harrington as well. I am so excited. And I cannot wait to meet with other DU'ers.

I leave the next afternoon.

at 10 pm. If you are still there, we will come to the Hawk and Dove straight from the airport.

The bus from MO will probably be in DC way before we get there. So I will tell the DUers to meet you guys Friday night. evlbstrd finally decided today to come and kiteinthewind will be coming too. I need to meet up with kite anyway since we are sharing a hotel room.

There are also a bunch of folks from St Louis on the bus but I don't know if any of them are DUers.

61. Thanks for the welcome, Stephanie!
I thought my marching days were over in the 60s, but if anybody can get my butt out of the LazyBoy it's Chucklenuts. I feel I owe it to the next generation.

One small success...I told a few people at work I was going to the "Beach Impeach" event last Saturday, and Saturday morning I got an email from a couple of 20-somethings who said they'd be there too. True to their word, they showed up with a tarp that they shared with half a dozen other folks.

No question in my mind...the Chimp is nuts. It's up to us to remind Congress that we're still a democratic republic - not a monarchy.

Hope you'll be there on the 27th, if not in body, then in spirit!

Watch for meetup locations, etc. I know I can't be the only DUer who really wants to meet you.

81. Will smoking be prohibited? Will smokers and anti-smokers be segregated?
I sure wouldn't want to get in between the two factions.

89. We are trying to put a breakfast meetup together
I would love to march with all my DU buds!

If all else fails, marchers are assembling before the march at 11 am between 3rd and 7th. Since there could be a half a kazillion people there, someone said something about a DU banner, which we could carry during the march also.

Several of us have exchanged cell phone numbers. If you want mine, PM me.
