If there is going to be observation of the trial in the next courtroom by the press, does anyone know if we will be able to view it online?? Any youtube clips?? If not how soon will we be able to view transcripts after testimony?? Did any alternative media get a seat??

1. Walton is allowing bloggers into the courtroom

I believe this is the first time a judge is treating bloggers like journalists. There is an organization of bloggers that's come together and they will be sending in two bloggers every day.

I wish they would release the audio of the proceedings but given the nature of the case and the need to protect secret information, I can understand his POV.

and everyone else has to go to the extra room.

I doubt if anyone will be allowed to bring in recording devices.

4. Fed courts don't allow television or audio broadcast of criminal trials.

From Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure:

Rule 53. Courtroom Photographing and Broadcasting Prohibited

Except as otherwise provided by a statute or these rules, the court must not permit the taking of photographs in the courtroom during judicial proceedings or the broadcasting of judicial proceedings from the courtroom.

Perhaps they weren't federal cases.
