Bush Steps Into The Abyss
Okay, I know I know, the source...but it's a good analysis of Bush's latest moves and the thought process driving the neocons and neolibs.

2. it is an upside down when you get TRUTHFUL, WORTHWHILE NEWS AND/OR EDITORIALS
from those who, once upon a time were thought of as lying propagandists, and your own government turns out to be the lying propagandist war mongering freak this time around.

3. Re: Worker's World...
When I was a kid I remember Khruschev referring to Americans as "Capitalist Imperialists". At the time I didn't know what it meant, but I thought it must be a terrible insult because the US propaganda machine was telling us it was so.

Looking back, I can see that the Soviets were exactly right in their assessment of us.

Excellent article, BTW.

4. socialists
There is no need to apologize for quoting a socialist organization. Much of socialism is good and much of capitalism is not. Hatred and fear of socialism is part of what is behind the criticism of Chavez, that and that he won't do what the US wants. If I had to choose between a leftist socialist group and a right wing conservative group, I'd go with the socialist group any day.

5. As would I
but I know the group is controversial and many here would dismiss the article because of that.

6. Consider the source?
Some of us here are workers, after all, and some of us are oppressed, or at least represent those who are. I mean this IS the Democratic Underground isn't it?

The US would be a much healthier place for everybody if articles like this one appeared in the regular mainstream press. Like that'll ever happen!
