He actually has been convinced he's Abe Lincoln...
I just saw the clip on CBS where Scott Pelly asks him if his unpopularity bothers him. "No, not at all" he says with that fake ass shit eating grin on his face.

I think the ass lickers in the White House have convinced him that he is doing a great and noble thing for the country by going against the American people.

It must be eating him up inside knowing what old Abe's fate was. The sniveling coward has to be shitting his pants daily at that thought.

1. NAhhh...
I don't think he knows what happened to Abe Lincoln. he'd have to have read a book to know that and his handlers probably aren't telling him either. Maybe we should send the book to Ms Pickles and have her read it to him as a bedtime story...and let him think it is a happy ending for us.....

8. Actually, this cartoon is inaccruate
Lincoln did listen to his generals, and only took over planning the war when it was obvious that McClellan wasn't going to do anything. As soon as he found able generals in Grant and Sherman, he let them do what they needed to do without micromanaging them.

I hate it when people don't know anything about history.

15. Bok (of the Akron Beacon Journal) is a Bush propagandist
and frequently contradicts his own reasoning ... there's a classic where he has a "businessman" annoyed that he had to be sent through the X-Ray machine at an airport because he would be delayed ... this back when Clinton was turning up the heat on airport security ...

10. Comparing Bush and Lincoln
Bush was born in CT to rich parents, given an Ivy League education.

Lincoln was born in KY to poor parents, and had less than a year of formal schooling.

Bush squandered his time at Yale and Harvard, not applying himself to his studies.

Lincoln was basically self-taught, and spent long hours in the study of various subjects, even while President.

Bush was given every business he was in and was bailed out by Daddy when they failed.

Lincoln failed at business, and took full responsibility, and paid back all money he owed, even though it literally took him years to do it.

Bush was given a cushy position in the Texas Air Guard to avoid service in Viet Nam, and apparently didn't even finish his tour of duty.

Lincoln volunteered for the Black Hawk war not once, but twice; he later joked about the fact that the blood he lost was to mosquitos, as he honestly stated he never saw combat. However, during Early's raid on Washington, he went to a forward position and viewed combat first hand-Capt. Oliver Wendell Holmes threw him to the ground to make sure the shots being fired at him did not hit their target-and Lincoln thanked him for doing it!

Bush has rarely gone to visit wounded veterans, and has yet to attend a funeral of a fallen soldier killed in Iraq.

Lincoln regularly visited hospital wards of both Union and Confederate soldiers, and attended the funerals of Elmer Ellsworth and Edward Baker, friends of colleagues of Lincoln.

Lincoln said, "with malice toward none, and charity toward all" while Bush said, "Bring 'em on."

Bush is no Lincoln. He doesn't even deserve to speak Lincoln's name, imho.
