What a ridiculous argument. Each plan that has been offered to date has been dismissed and ignored.

What about the Baker-Hamilton plan for starters? Contrary to what the administration would have us believe.... the Get the Hell Out plan is also a PLAN.

List them here, I'm already tired of hearing this false argument.

3. The Release Democrats Should Send Out First Thing Monday Morning (Huffington Post)
Edited on Sun Jan-14-07 07:23 PM by Mass
Huffington Post had this on the same subject this morning.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-young/the-release-democrats-sho_b_38626.html

In his weekly Saturday morning radio address, President Bush set the week's talking point for the right wing, broadcasting Lords of Loud.

"(For the Democrats) To oppose everything while proposing nothing is irresponsible"

...

Of course, the Democrats have come up with a lot of suggestions. Even the President, ever since he admitted that his ideas were only exacerbating the situation, admitted he's listened to many ideas, including those from the Democrats and war critics within his own party.

John Murtha(D, PA) called for redeployment.

Joe Biden (D, Del) has proposed a partition plan for Iraq, a Tri-Part solution.

Chuck Hagel (R, ) advocates a border watch.

John Kerry (D, Mass) has offered a comprehensive plan to end the civil war.

Others have introduced political solutions: summits dealing with Iraq and the countries bordering it, the Arab League, NATO, and the Permanent Members of the United Nations Security Council.

I propose, that if the Democrats were smart, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi issue a Monday morning release sent to every media outlet entitled...

"Our Plan To End The Killing In Iraq That The President Doesn't Seem To Get Or Hear So Perhaps Someone In The Media Might Read This Release To Him And The Advisor Who Keeps Telling Him To Send Out The Talking Point That We Don't Have A Plan."

And then, list the plans they have introduced.

If this is done, then talk radio can get back to the important issues concerning our failed effort in Iraq...Barbara Boxer calling Condoleezza Rice single.

And they do not even list Kucinich and Feingold.

4. Kerry/Feingold
Excerpts of S.2766 introduced in the United States Senate on June 21, 2006
Purpose: To require the redeployment of United States Armed Forces from Iraq in order to further a political solution in Iraq, encourage the people of Iraq to provide for their own security, and achieve victory in the war on terror.

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES--109th Cong., 2nd Sess.

S.2766

SEC. 1084 UNITED STATES POLICY ON IRAQ.

(a) REDEPLOYMENT OF TROOPS FROM IRAQ.--

(1) SCHEDULE FOR REDEPLOYMENT. -- For purposes of strengthening the national security of the United States, the President shall redeploy, commencing immediately, United States forces from Iraq by July 1, 2007, in accordance with a schedule coordinated with the Government of Iraq, leaving only the minimal number of forces that are critical to completing the mission of standing up Iraqi security forces, conducting targeted and specialized counterterrorism operations, and protecting United States facilities and personnel.

(2) CONSULTATION WITH CONGRESS REQUIRED. -- The President shall consult with Congress regarding the schedule for redeployment and shall submit such schedule to Congress as part of the report required under subsection (c).

(3) MAINTENANCE OF OVER-THE-HORIZON TROOP PRESENCE. -- The President should maintain an over-the-horizon troop presence to prosecute the war on terror and protect regional security interests.

(b) IRAQ SUMMIT.--The President should work with leaders of the Government of Iraq to convene a summit as soon as possible that includes these leaders, leaders of the governments of each country bordering Iraq, representatives of the Arab League, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, representatives of the European Union, and leaders of the governments of each permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, for the purpose of reaching a comprehensive political agreement for Iraq that engenders the support of Sunnis, Shias, and Kurds by ensuring the equitable distribution of oil revenues, disbanding the militias, strengthening internal security, reviving reconstruction efforts and fulfilling related international economic aid commitments, securing Iraq's borders, and providing for a sustainable federalist structure in Iraq.

(c) REPORT ON REDEPLOYMENT.--

(1) REPORT REQUIRED.--Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall, in consultation with the Secretary of State, submit to Congress a report that sets forth the strategy for the redeployment of United States forces from Iraq by July 1, 2007.

5. John Murtha's Plan - Wesley Clark's Plan
Back in mid 2005, Wesley Clark formulated his own plan which calls for a major effort to understand Iraqi society by bringing in an army of linguists and also by focusing more on rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure and economy, as well as engaging the other powers in the region in a major diplomatic effort.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/25/AR2005082501623.html

Now, in this looming new Bush fiasco it looks like the U.S. is going into Baghdad to fight house-by-house with not even enough translators to understand what the hell is going on. And just this morning I heard they're bringing in Kurdish troops for the Baghdad operation, ones who don't even speak Arabic.
