If environment has any influence on sexuality, it should be evident why Mary Cheney is a lesbian. If your male role model was Dick Cheney, would you not avoid male influence and want your own children protected from that dark side of humanity? Thank you Mary Cheney and your life partner for your character and courage to break the cycle of evil and raise a child with strength and values in good men's quest for peace and justice.

To me that means she wants him to be an influence on her child, his grandchild.

Naturally she is not going to be homophobic but she IS a right-winger and will probably raise her kid as a right-winger. Just because someone is part of a marginalized group does not mean they will not support the powerful against the weak. Do some reading about the Court Jews of the Middle Ages. From what I know of Mary Cheney she has never sided with the weak against the powerful.

In Virginia, where more people voted for the marriage discrimination amendment then for either Senate candidate, there is no warranty for Mary and Heather that some state entity might not swoop in and take their child from them because they are unfit because some bigoted Christianists push the issue. Mary Cheney has been a part of the GOP attack machine because she has helped mightily those that want to discriminate against her growing family: Heather and now their new baby. That is unfortunate.

She would be better off to move from Virginia to Massachusetts. They could get married as residents and then bring up their child in a state that is leading the rest in equal rights for gays. And it would be nice if she stood up to her father and the party of discrimination that he belongs to. And she should admit to herself and the public that she helped to marginalize along with him a huge American constituency that includes -- herself.

9. When She Turns Down Her Inheritance

...then I will consider that she has "broken the cycle". Until then, as long as she is toadying up to the very people who hate her and who will do whatever they can to destroy her way of life and ohhh, since it does not happen to her due to the protection from Daddy's power, she seems not to give a rat's ass about what happens to other people like her or she would refuse to be a part of it. Hypocrisy is so much a part of her family legacy, it seems. She is more than willing to take the blood money her father took and not think a thing is out of the ordinary.

I'm sorry I do not think she has done a damn thing! I believe you can love your enemies, but this does not mean you have to live in the same house as they do! You can love from a distance and sometimes it is wise. Her father's "friends" could do whatever they wanted to take the child she is bearing away from her and they would have the law on their side, thanks to her father and his friends. I would *never* want to be tainted like that myself.

Oh. And P.S. More and more it is looking like being gay is something you are born being. It appears to me that the only thing "environment" does is make you twisted when it does not allow you to be who you are. Her father is a monster. In WWII some of the best, gentlest, and kindest family men were Nazis. It was after they left home for the day that they became monsters. I feel sorrow for the children they produced when they found out what their fathers really were! Mary refuses to acknowledge her parents' active participation and profit for the murder of millions (remember he was complicit in South America, Africa and other places as well). She uses her father's influence for her career, for her way of life. Sorry but as long as she is as complicit as they are, she is no better than they are. Unless she can disdain the money her father is making to this very day, she has not done a thing.
