Al Gore To Speak at Boise State as Favor for Boise Woman

When Al Gore speaks at Boise State University later this month, he'll be doing it for free as a favor to a Boise woman.

Bethine Church, wife of late Idaho Senator Frank Church, has known Gore since he was a child.

Church felt people living in Idaho needed to hear the message of "An Inconvenient Truth" from Gore himself, so she simply picked up the phone and called him at home.

"He said, 'I'll see if i can work it out Bethine," and three days later we had him," she says.

Gore not only found the time to visit Idaho, he's speaking for free. Church will introduce him before his speech.

CBS 2 News asked her what she plans to say.

"Just personal things," she says. "How much he matters."
