I find myself in the position of begging assistance from my fellow DUers one last time with regards to the Preditors and Editor's reader's choice poll, where I'm on the list of favorite authors. I was, at one time, as high as the number two slot, but I have since fallen to the number 8 slot. I suppose I could be happy that I'm in the top ten, all things considered, but I'd much prefer being in the top three. Or, barring that, the top five.
So I ask of you all, if you haven't yet stopped in to vote for me, to give me a little kick. And to kick this thread, if you will.
http://www.critters.org/predpoll/author.shtmlI know that several of you have already done this for me, and I thank you ever so much for it. It means more than you know. Yes, it's just a poll, but it's raising my public profile, which goes a long way toward boosting my writing career.
Believe me...even after four novels, I'm still trying to get off the ground. It's been my dream since I was a little kid to be a well-known author and every little bit brings me closer to realizing that dream.
I'm well-known in certain circles, but that, it seems, doesn't quite feed the bulldog. Or, should I say, buy kibbles for my miniature pincer, pomeranian, shiba inu, and jindo.
It, occasionally, allows me to take my wife out to dinner.
So, if you find it in your hand to toss me a bone, and haven't yet done so, please hit the link and vote for Saje Williams.
You never know...a few years down the line, you can tell your friends you knew me when I was just another political junkie on DU.
;)
Not to say that I wouldn't STILL be a political junkie on DU. But then I'd be in a position to provide counter-balance to the RW crap from Orson Scott Card and his ilk in a slightly more public forum as well.
My deepest gratitude for whatever help you can offer,
Saje
