We have been through this same stuff so many times before. Maybe not to this degree, but it has happened many times.

Each time the country seemed at it most bleak, constitutionally tired point, the wheels on the road took a detour and saved this country. It is happening again. The country has just elected a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS for the first time in over a decade.

The people will win.

It is just a matter of time.

This is a beginning for America. Again.

That is what makes America so great.

The ability to create new beginnings.

I wrote a depressing thread earlier, and it is refreshing, enlightening, and extremely comforting to see that there is hope for our country. But, I ain't all that sure that it is a fact. So, I K&R this post because your hopes and mine coincide.

are underestimating (or more likely are ignorant of) the neocons and their agenda.

Some days I'm hopeful that they will catch on before its too late.

Right now I'm afraid IranNam will start and they will have a knee jerk reaction to support Bush enough to let him widen this ghastly conflagration sufficiently that it will take decades and hundreds of thousands of lives before things are right again. Of course, that's fine with the neocons.

in my humble thoughts, we are a group of people with varying beliefs and ideas, but come together when our basic, core beliefs are challenged.

Many didn't realize for a long while that their core beliefs were being challenged. I think they now know.

We have had a democratic majority before even during Reagan .

I don't know exactly what happened or why they were asleep but here we are now and it does not look to good to me .

I was hopeful when we won the elections but just before we did we were in a state of belief we would not win so we were surprised and I wonder now if this was all it was , a surprise .

It took a while, too long, for others to recognize and fight back.

13. Yes, indeed. All the population at large needs to do is awaken, turn off their daily

dose of hate radio and television and read, read, read, digest the foundign documents and classical philosophy from the Enlightenment such as Jefferson, Voltaire, and of course the master, Paine.

Then turn the TV and radio back on and analyze what they have read with what they see and hear and contrast that to the British press.

I think the light will be seen, but that requires both effort of reading as well as the strain of analysis, and contemporary society is as dull in that respect as were our ancestors in say, 9th Century Europe...
Things are fine. People smarter than us know all the answers. Don't question your "betters." We are currently one step removed from Rove declaring "Jesus has spoken through George" and launching another Crusade.

We can hope for our youth, however, or else the disempowerment of the "Pay to Play" rules for public service.

14. this is how i see it. this is what i told my boys in 2004. it is a lesson to

learn from. unfortunately what i see some of the dems and some of the laws being passed, i am not thinking we dems have learned from this lesson and will continue the wild pendulum swing.
