Freeper in-law breakthru!!!
We did our usual weekly dinner with the in-laws tonight and I was really surprised talking my MIL. I asked her if she had heard if my brother-in-law received his deployment info yet. She said he hadn't (he graduates from Army communications school in Feb). Then she went on about how we need to bring our guys home, that an additional 21K troops will make no difference at all. Our sons and daughters are being killed in a war for oil.

You could have knocked me over with a feather. I just let her rant and then I agreed with her.

Yeah!!!! Another one bites the dust!!!

9. Hmm. How does she feel about the people propping Bush?
Maybe save that for next week.

My stepdad was totally pro-Nixon. Dinner was a battlefield every night. One day he said, "Nixon may have committed some crimes." Within two days, Nixon was gone.

7. With most Republicans, that's the only time they clue in
Some not even then. cognitive dissonance and hypothesis protection are powerful things- especially when people have their personalities all wrapped up in "being a Republican" and "hating liberals."

11. All of my in laws are on the opposite side of the aisle, too
but have not been personally affected by any of *'s decisions. I discovered over the holidays that my MIL voted for a Democratic governor in the November election. I was shocked and encouraged because she is a life-long Republican. I feel things are turning for the good!

13. Good for her. Make sure she has the info on the new "profit-sharing"
30 year agreement we are forcing down the Iraqi's throats right now. She may need to 'prove' her point to her friends.

14. Love to hear these stories although
I still have a strong desire to kick the arses of those who voted for that idiot, even after they have come around.

15. Human beings hardly ever learn from the experience of others.
They learn; when they do, which isn't often, on their own, the hard way.
