NOT. But now that I have your attention. *tee hee.
Like many a techie who howled with laughter after Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) stumbled about with his "Tubes" metaphor, we also realized he was in effect using an overly simple metaphor to describe several content replication systems that have been around for several years. Of course saying such here would have, at the time, fallen on deaf ears. It was way to much fun to watch the videos and have a good laugh at that fools expense.
Well it didn't take long for some a crew to come up with exactly that- Internet Tubes or just "Tubes"....and here it is folks
Tubes Video PresentationThere is also
an article at Yahoo to accompany the presentation I linked above.
So next time someone scoffs at the concept of the net being a series of connected "Tubes", you can say... "well actually, there is an application that does exactly that...".
And of course they will say "Brilliant"!!!
Certainly your going to need to explain all this if you want to avoid the same labeling fate, hence why I included all the background material.
Have fun with it....

BTW. I have not used this application and more than likely would not for a variety of reasons. I just thought it was funny how they capitalized on that bumbling fools description and created a potentially useful internet application.
