Cheney's/ Neocons Iran Strategy
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 03:09 PM by Homer12
I think I finally figured out what their strategy is and has been; To inflame the division and hatred that sunni and shia have for each other.

They want a regional civil war for a few reasons:

First this would allow the Neocons to take whatever action against Iran they wanted.

This would allow massed American forces to amass in their bases and at strategic oil reserves, rather than spending any time in rural and outlying cities and villages; This would be insurance that energy resources are under their control

It's a divide and conquer strategy, while the sunni vs. shia exhaust themselves they weaken their defenses.

A regional war would create absolute chaos, making a great smoke screen for whatever imperial plans the warmongers have. Media coverage would be very difficult an no doubt solo journalists would be killed.

They are trying to spur the islamic religion to have a Religious Scism much like the Orthodox vs. Catholic, Catholic vs. Lutheran; they want to fracture Islam even more. Why?

1. I totally agree that destabilizing Iraq...

...was part of their "imperial plan" from the get go.

If you look at the PNAC site, their explicitly stated goal is global
domination--by military means. Iraq was an opportunity to get a foothold
in the Middle East and it is the springboard from which they'll launch their
takeover of the region.

And isn't it interesting that Junior has been so busy taking away our civil
rights: making torture ok, eroding privacy and defining an enemy
combatant as anyone who disagrees with our current administration? As America
wakes up and realizes what the PNAC agenda is---it will be too dangerous to
protest or even speak out.

They bamboozled enough Americans into the Iraq debacle. Iran will be a tough
sell, but they'll have the bottom-feeding 25 percent on board. By the time
they get to country #3, no one will be on board. Everyone will realize what
we at DU have known all along--but it will be too late.

2. They only want tot fracture Islam to the extent that they can use it as a tool
to, as you mentioned, divide.

This is entirely about theft. When the Prez & VP's family fortunes are deeply invested in war and oil, this is what you get -- blatent, open self-dealing.

More conflict=more sales.
