McCain runs fourth in a GOP straw poll in --Arizona!
In a straw poll of 458 GOP officials here are the results:
Duncan Hunter 96 votes
Romney 82 votes
Gingrich 53 votes
McCain 50 votes
Scattered others

http://www.cqpolitics.com/2007/01/longshot_hunter_touts_win_in_a.html

While certainly not definitive it shows that McCain does have problems (even in AZ with activists in his own party--much the way Hillary has with activists in her party).
