3. I really wonder if he was intentionally set up

clearly he had a vulnerability that was exploited, but I wonder to what extent he was preyed on by intelligence services that tracked his movements and then fed incriminating info to local investigators.

11. I think his 1998 testimony...

is responsible for a sense of distrust. I haven't been able to find any definitive explanation, but his address to the Iraqi Parliament implied...to me...that he was betrayed by his own government, in more ways than one.

4. Ritter is one of the few who's been 100% right on the *specifics* from day 1

A lot of us were correct in general, to oppose the war for various reasons. Ritter, in contrast, made an incredibly detailed case against the invasion that took into account many of the phenomena we see unfolding even today. The man deserves some kind of media recognition award, like having the entire Faux News anchor squad lick his car tires clean or something. Instead, he's been pretty well marginalized, relegated to outsider status by the very people who got it all completely wrong.

I betcha 10 years ago, he didn't foresee joining the likes of Chomsky and Palast on the wrong side of the prevailing issue frame.

A 2003 book he did pretty much chronicled his struggle to tell people who wouldn't listen and when the smear campaign started, it became even more difficult. The name of the book (which I bought when published) is "Frontier Justice/ Weapons of Mass Destruction And The Bushwhacking of America" from Context Books.

10. he`s been saying we are already at war with iran

because the special forces have been using southern iraq for missions into iran. he`s also proved that the iran gassed iraqi villages. he`s one of the few that understand what is really going on
