Snow: Does Anti-War Resolution Support the Troops?

http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/washington/washington/entries/2007/01/17/snow_does_antiw.html

<snip>

It’s all about support for the troops, says Snow:

“One thing the president has said is whatever you do make sure you support the troops. And the question those who support this resolution will have to ask is how does this support the troops. … In many ways that is a question that those behind this resolution will have to contend with. Furthermore, how do you support the troops (with a proposed effort to cut funding for the war). Those are questions you have to answer, too. It’s pretty clear that members of both parties are keenly aware of that.”

“I’m not going to characterize whether it does or does not constitute support for the troops. But it is a question that those that are talking about these resolutions will have to answer for themselves and for the public.”

3. The national interest comes first, and using "Support Troops" to fuck the nation should be exposed.

6. So what Snow is saying is that if the funding for war dries up, they'll still send troops into
harm's way without adequate funding to maintain operations. Sounds like lack of troop support from the WH to me, if you don't have funding, you scale back the operations. So why would the WH maintain the same level of operations without full funding? That's the question to me. The troops don't decide where they go or how long they stay there, The Decider does.

8. Hmmm, bring them home out of harms way to be
with their families OR keep them overseas fighting a commercial war created and continued to line the pockets of oil and war profiteers. I would think any sane person would pick the first choice. But then, we're not dealing with any apparently sane people in this administration. The sane people who were going along for the ride to get in on the cut have all bailed.
