FOX's war push, bleeds into American Idle

The one thing I saw last night was the effectiveness of FOX's mild brian washing. During the New Idle one of the singers was a American Woman GI of course and went on to tell the old FOX tale About fighting for freedom and liberty. Of course she will get a spot on the show because anyone that serves for this country is such a patriot and FOX will go out of its way to find a GI, when the rest of the military is actually fighting and dieing, to come sing on American Idle!

because I do, ashamedly, get a serious chuckle about people who think they can sing and make total fools out of themselves and those legit talents that are out there. Does it have faults, of course, but I find it mindless entertainment and it is about one of the few things I really watch.

That said, I agree with the OP. The propaganda on that show is SUCH BULLSHIT!!!

The war push and the sappy stories about "America's freedom" blew me away. This is a deliberate attempt, and a transparent and obvious attempt to continue to press the validity of this war onto the American psyche.

My wife and I just looked at one another in amazement at the blatant Faux nonsense.

11. She wasn't the only one... the USS Reagan had a singing competition

and the winner was also on Idol last night(look I only watch the tryouts, they are hilarious). Amazingly both military entries made it to the next round in spite of what was at best a mediocre talent. C'mon kids join up, we promise that if you aren't getting your ass shot at over in Iraq you'll be given leave time to appear on Idol!

I know what they are doing and I don't like it or support it!

I don't post a whole lot of treads and this is why. All I was doing is pointing out fox's ability to manipulate peoples ways of thinking. I didn't come out and attack anyone on the DU forums, or resort to name calling like you just did.

Some people are singers, and some of those singers are soldiers. Who gives a damn? If she can sing, let 'er sing! I don't watch American Idol, but I don't get the problem most people have with it. If you can sing, bless ya, sing yer head off!
