I got a call yesterday from a former co-worker who was a life-long Republican who is very disgusted with Bush, Cheney, and the Republcian Party. She thinks that Cheney is the devil itself. She apparently called me (long distance) just to talk about it. She saw the "Inconvenient Truth" and was very shaken up about it. She's totally enthralled with Al Gore now - even though she didn't vote for him in 2000.

She says that she would NOT vote Kerry over Bush, however. She mentioned that "joke" that Kerry had told about getting stuck in Iraq. (She actually thought that Kerry had made the negative comment about the troops and not Bush.)

THEN, my brother called. He has been dating a "Liberal" although he mantains that he is still a conservative. He used to be a total Bush fanatic but now "isn't too crazy about him."

Dear (local) Democrats,
Al Gore is currently "standing for office". If enough people request that
he consider entering the 2008 Presidential race, despite the raw treatment
he received in 2000, he may consider running.
Perhaps if Al Gore sees that enough Americans want him to run, he will heed

I am convinced that Al Gore is our best candidate to win the Presidency in
2008. He's been a leader on many issues, especially, but not only, facing
the real problems of our impact on the environment. He is a leader in well

up to moneyed interests when they conflict with our national interests, to
say nothing of his being against the war in Iraq.

One last thought, some of you may also be as fortunate as I am to know Al
Gore personally. He is nothing like the cardboard portrait the press
created in the 2000 campaign. Just think of the person you have seen on the
talk shows. You don't have to rely on an imposed portrait. You have had
enough opportunities to judge for yourself based on the personality that
came out when you had more direct information. He is actually a funny,
charming and thoughtful person.

it doesn't matter! It might if Al runs, but if these people thought for themselves in the first place our country wouldn't be in the position it is in now.

I think back to the conversations I had during the 2000 election. I tried to persuade everyone to look at the candidate's resumes (we were hiring a person to run this country). I'm sorry but these folks who conveniently change their mind and are pissed now are too late. The damage is irreversible. I don't think that they are off of the hook for falling hook line and sinker for the "invented the internet", "moral compass", "compassionate conservative", "I'd have a beer with him" bullshit that Rove & the MSM we're able to pull off. They will just believe the media when it dotes on McCain this time around & if he wins & screws more shit up, they'll come around the second time. You see McCain is a maverick & not one of them (i.e. jackasses in this administration)! Note the sarcasm.

If he decides to run in 2008, he would be the "I told you so" candidate. Not in a "Haha, I told you so!" way but in a "What could have been" way that makes people think twice about where the US could be today if the votes were counted to give the people a competent President that deserved to do the job.

he made this movie to give us all a warning about what we all now need to do to face down the most urgent crisis in our civilization's history. Wow. I sure now understand what he means about beating your head on that brick wall.
