ABANDONING THREAD: Your views on Hillary Clinton press conference: 3 PM ET/12 Noon PT. On MSNBC...
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 03:27 PM by Radio_Lady
There are 21 Republican senate seats up for grabs in 2008 (including our very own Republican Gordon Smith of Oregon, who recently expressed disgust with his own party.) That's approximately 1/3rd of the senate in play.

Hillary is not on that list. Let's see what she has to say.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

ON UPDATE: Too many ugly negativists on the DU today.

Good bye and good luck.

Oh rats, I have a conflict. That's when I was going to clean the lint out of my belly button. Guess I'll just have to miss the message from the Hillster.

7. why would you make a post like this?
A post running down a Democrat just for the sake of running one down?

12. I agree, PaulK. Let's just ignore Spiral Hawk. OK?
With 100,000 plus members, the DU has ample opportunity for flame wars with people who profess to be Democrats, but who don't like this or that person. I'm chalking it up to :sarcasm:...

14. "I'd like her to run later, but not now." Please explain... the candidates
for 2008 are already announcing. I think she has to respond, don't you?

Perhaps she won't announce today, but it has to come sooner or later.

I'll be interested in hearing from her... along with Evan Bayh and another person whose name I missed.

"I want the troops out of Iraq."

cloistered in the Emerald City, aka The "Green Zone".

17. It confirms to me why Clinton won't tell she's not running
The cable networks ignore all the other senates until Hilary came on.

They would be ingoring her right now if they knew she wasn't running.

Smart lady.

Press Conference is over. My mistake. I thought there would be lots of people willing to discuss this in the General Discussion group.

I was wrong. Some people decided to clean out their belly button lint, put their fingers in their ears, and generally acted like fools.

It's more than I can bear this afternoon.

Good bye and good luck.

27. Unfortunately, that's what happens when Hillary Clinton is mentioned.
I know people have strong feelings. I've criticized her myself. But, I'm willing to listen to what she has to say. She's still a Democrat. More of a Democrat than Lieberman.

34. "Expectation" is just another word for premeditated resentment.

In the event your ire includes my post, be aware that it was EXACTLY on-target at the time I posted it. She had said nothing for the first few minutes but her itinerary and a roll call of the people from whom she supposedly collected the wisdom of the ages in 90-minute sessions or less.

Regarding her 'proposed legislation' ... she poses it in one breath and acknowledges it has no chance of passage in the next breath. That's the very epitome of posturing. Rather than rally support for the most meaningful action Congress can take, political cowardice is ruling the day.
