Libby trial jury selection: a former WP reporter, with connection to Libby survives first round

Former newspaper reporter cleared for jury pool

WASHINGTON A former Washington Post reporter has survived the initial cut as a potential juror in the trial of a former White House aide.
His selection comes even though he lived near N-B-C's Tim Russert, and worked with the Post's Bob Woodward -- both of whom could testify.

The unidentified man is also friends with a lawyer who played touch football with Lewis Libby, the former Dick Cheney chief of staff who faces perjury charges.

Accepting the man into the jury pool shows how tough a time lawyers have had picking a jury. Several people have already been disqualified over strong feelings about the Bush administration.

2. So 7 out of 10 jurors will be disqualified
because they hate shit-fer-brains. The other 3 out of 10 have ties to shrubco. Guess which ones will get picked.

4. Several people have already been disqualified over strong feelings about the Bush administration.
I would think that would be a formidable task. Finding anyone SANE who doesn't have strong anti-Bush feelings these days is next to impossible.

If they don't have strong anti-Bush feelings, they're drinking the Kool-Aid, or they are not paying attention at all.
