A riddle or parable or just a question.
If six men are in a boat that is sinking
and they are steadily bailing out the water
to no avail,

what would be their best bet to solve the problem?

a.) get six more men to help them bail (The Bush solution for his miserable failure in Iraq)

b.) find the holes and start patching

c.) get out of the boat and swim to some relative safety and admit defeat

d.) Why thuh fuck did they board a boat full of holes without assessing the situation for danger beforehand?

Well, happy answering. I love these types of questions because they bring out the best ideas in our camp. The Repukes are constantly asking us what our plan is regarding Iraq. So, let's let them have it.

My answer, for the record, is:
First off, D is the most logical answer, although it is a bit late to act rational once you are already on Shit Creek without a paddle.

Second option is obviously to try B, then if that doesn't work, goto plan C.

Never, I repeat, never, would I choose plan A in this case, like Chimpy did. It was a dumb idea to begin with and he has depleted his human meat market resources (IOW, military enlisted personnel). That dumb ass mother fucker. Duh, gee golly, it ain't working, let's keep doing more of the same, maybe then it'll work. What a dumbass.

2. First, shoot the bastard making holes
second, assign one of the remaining five to patch the holes.

The rest, keep bailing.

10. Good point, just make sure we don't assign Bush as
the one patching the holes. He'd manage to screw up even that task. Everything he should do, he will NOT do and everything he should NOT do, he insists will be the right plan. The man is so backward.

Not Cheney either, he makes holes. Your plan just may work as long as we keep those two far away from the operation.

3. K&R Sort of like the Titanic,With the Neocons at the Helm
Great parable for both Iraq and our country! An unsinkable republic and an unassailable democracy, the country appears to be cruising as comfortably into unsafe waters laced with icebergs. The warnings have been forthcoming for a long time now. Similar to the enduring morality tale of the Titanic, where "not one, but many errors brought her to disaster," little hints of disaster indicating a larger tragedy to come have been sent—and ignored—by friendly ships of state all around". http://www.strike-the-root.com/51/herman/herman8.html Unlike The captain of the Titanic bush will not go down with the ship. That's why he picked plan a

4. The one problem, IMHO, with the analogy is that...
the boat already had a crew on it, and the 6 men who are on board bailing it out were the ones who put the holes in it in the first place.

The issue with option A is obvious.
The issue with option C is that if the 6 people leave the boat then the boat is still sinking and now the crew has to deal with it by themselves, and the crew doesn't really have the option of getting out of the boat and swimming to safety.
Option D is an excellent question, but doesn't really help them in their current situation (as you said). Hopefully, it will come in handy the next time the 6 people think about shooting holes in someone else's boat.

Option B is the best option, but until you find the holes and figure out how to fix them, you're just treading water.

6. ROFLMAO!!!
You must actually know some of them to know that. I see your point entirely. They shoot first, ask no questions later, then shoot some more for no good reason. Great reply and great analogy.

7. i'd say he's pretty smart; making us think how stupid he is by starting perpetual war & profits...
three adults were on a ship full of children:
One is Nancy Pelosi, one is Dick Cheney and the other is Mark Foley.
the ship was sinking!
Ms Pelosi says, "Hurry, let's save these children!"
Dick Cheney says, "SCREW THE CHILDREN!"
Mark Foley says, "Do you think we have enough time, Dick?"

9. Well, since we would never let a boat full of our fellow men out of our sight...
...completely, and since we have been keeping an eye on their predicament, I assume that by now our rescue party is almost there to bring them safely back home. Meanwhile, our investigation into those responsible for manufacturing the boats must be well under way.

Right? Right?
