O'Reilly blames the victim.
http://www.crooksandliars.com/

O'Reilly is a lunatic, plain and simple and yes Bill, this is a personal attack. He has the nerve to attack one of the kidnapped victims (Shawn Hornbeck) because he didn't try to get away. Something along the lines of 'he didn't like school so he stayed with his assailant.'
<snip>

Why the hell is this sick, twisted rat bastard still on television?

because he is against the illegal invasion. Remember? Jeremy Glick..."Just SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" O'LIElly is such an ass. I hope Sean's parents file a law suit. Take his ass to court!

27. many "coincidences" pointing to repuke involvement in JFK assassination
One of which is, Poppy Bush can't remember where he was on the day of the assassination but he called the FBI saying he knew of someone suspicious. Then Poppy said he was flying to Dallas right "after" the assasination. :scared:

6. He wasn't too upset when his sexual harassment victim caved for $$
So, allegedly the kidnap victim didn't try to get away, and lest anyone forget, the female FOX NEWS employee getting unsolicited dirty phone calls from O'Reilly undoubtedly let HIM get away. Of course, once the cash was paid out of court, O'Reilly officially dismissed it all as "case closed". Being a well-heeled culture war hypocrite is quite comfy, eh Bill???

13. All of the news cretins have been nibbling around that question
And they ALL should be fucking ASHAMED of themselves---but trust that asswipe to take a great big tearing chunk of a bite.

I find the questioning of the child's reasoning in a survival situation simply dispicable. The man weighed more than three times the child's weight when he was taken, poor lad. The youngster will be fucked up for years, even with aggressive, intensive therapy. He's going to need extra schooling too, lots of it, one on one, if he wants to rejoin his classmates.

And all Dildo Really can do is complain that the kid wasn't "brave" enough to risk having his family killed if he tried to run away? Jesus. The mind fucking goggles.

17. It's sad so many people listen to him
I was so sickened when I read what he said about the Shawn Hornbeck case. It's horrible. I hope he gets a lot of grief about making comments that are so hurtful, uninformed, and wrong.

Shawn Hornbeck is a victim of kidnapping, brainwashing, and horrible crimes against a child. It might take a while for the details to emerge, but there is no doubt in my mind that he suffered the same fate as Steven Staynor (who was sexually abused by his kidnapper for seven years). It's simply irresponsible for anyone to state that Shawn did anything voluntarily. He was coerced and threatened and did anything to survive. If you ever hear Patty Hearst talk about her ordeal, she will say how horribly brutal her experience was. She explains what they did to her mentally and how you change, but you don't even know it. She also did anything to survive. Unless you experience this yourself, I think people should not be so judgmental.

What Bill O said was shameful.

18. OReilly is a buffoon, a moron, a prick, and a jerk
so it's to be expected of him. Worse is that here on DU when the story broke, there were some DUers saying "hey, the kid didn't try to get away" and blaming the victim, and that made me even sicker than OLielly ever has. I'm sure the threads are still here if you care to search and if you have the stomach for it.

19. conservatives always blame the victims
all folks on welfare or folks living below the poverty level, the homeless are all to blame for their lot in life, they just don't pull themselves up by their boot straps and they just don't want to improve their lots in life, they like sucking on the government teats.

hurricane survivors are to blame for choosing to live where hurricanes can destroy their lives and they are to blame because they weren't properly insured or haven't fought hard enough for their proceeds or they aren't smart enough to know how to deal with those silly old insurance companies. (of course, you can substitute "ice storm" or "earthquake" or "tornado" or other natural occurence for the word "hurricane", it's all the same, if you live in an area prone to natural disasters, then you made your bed and you have to be content with getting the shaft and shouldn't expect the nation to bail you out.)

empathy, understanding and compassion are not terms they understand let alone know how to use in their daily lives.

and but, for the grace of god ....

22. That's sick and disgusting...
Bill is really showing his blinding ignorance.

The average person understands how an 11-year old child can be traumatized into
compliance--by an abuser. Pedophiles are skilled experts at manipulating
children with the most brazen threats and sick cruelty.

11-year old children believe what adults say. Most likely, this pedophile
threatened to kill him or his family members. Like most pedophiles, they
convince the child that they wanted the abuse, and this confuses the child.
Pedophiles convince children that they own the shame, and this keeps the victim
silent and enables the pedophile to offend and re-offend.

The audacity of that sick freak O'Reilly. He must be an abuser himself. To
pretend that this child wanted to be imprisoned--is beyond the pale.

One in four girls and one in seven boys--is sexually abused before the age of
18. Most of those cases involve a close relative--usually in the home--who is
sexually abusing the child. Those children don't run either. They're too
afraid, too traumatized and too manipulated into shame. Pedophiles know
exactly how to construct prisons around the hearts of children.

Obviously, Bill has absolutely no understanding of these crimes. He has
no business making any comments about this case--when he clearly is
completely ignorant about this entire subject.

Interesting that Bill lacks empathy for the victim--which is a major
hallmark of pedophiles. They ALWAYS blame the victim. Interesting, huh?

What a complete animal Bill O' Reilly is.

26. At least you have to give Billo credit for being consistent and crossing social class lines.
He also blamed the victim of a rape-murder for being drunk and dressing provocatively the night she was killed...to him, she was just "asking" to be raped and murdered by dressing that way and getting drunk so she couldn't defend herself. "Everybody's gonna want that"--I think that was how he put it.

And when Suzanne Somers lost her house in Malibu to that fire a little while ago, he didn't feel sorry for her. "Why did she have a house there in the first place?" This despite the fact that according to what locals say, that area has never been particularly susceptible to fire.

Good old Billo. He's an equal-opportunity boor.
