15. Not at all, and I only used the old ignore once in the past and that only because

he just said the same two things over and over. I think the whole point to this type of community is to hear other POVs and to discuss them.
It doesn't matter to me at all, I was merely saying that the feature has the potential to degrade the very reason we come here.

17. Good point. It's a tricky situation. I'd have hoped the alert and

other mechanisms would have been sufficient, but I can see how the new ignore feature could be abused. I personally like all the POVs, but I do get tired of the same old talking points from the same old long-debunked RW emails getting posted again and again, leading to clutter and disinformation.

11. You said it. I can see how it is desirable in some cases, especially

in the women's rights and feminist forums (two examples from personal experience, I'm sure there are others but these are the one's I know), as I've seen so many really good discussions hijacked or locked because one a-hole fucks it up for the rest, but OTOH I think that people are people, and in the end (just like the re:puke: party) it will simply serve to stifle debate.

I'm sure I've screamed as much at my TV as you have, but I collect myself, and realizethings like this take time.

I really do expect impeachment to happen, but it's going to be after some of the hearings. Which hearings? Who knows. Conyers, Biden, Waxman, Layhe (sp), or some other committees. Who knows what's going to turn up? I'm old enough to remember thehearings on Watergate. suddenly there was a shocker when some poor slob from the WH mentioned the tapes!

Shrub insists on digging his hole deeper and deeper. He'll pay a price for sure, but we have to be a little patient.

We have some "past issues" here on DU that can't be addressed (otherwise the STONE OF DEATH).

Meanwhile the 'perps' can sing "merrily along" about their latest hardship in life without any fear of tombstoning.....

THAT is what I'm referring to! (and I know I'm not alone in noticing this).


I would be happy to "bring it all to the fore" if I can have a guarantee of "tombstone imunity" (and gee, I "appreciate" the fact that it's 'gotta be a bitch' to be a website adminstrator! :-)
