Kudos to Chairman Rahall on Big Oil Anti-Subsidy Bill (Hometown Pride)
Edited on Thu Jan-18-07 07:20 PM by CorpGovActivist
Watching the new Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee manage his portion of the bill to end tax subsidies to big oil today, I couldn't help but feel a bit of hometown pride: http://resourcescommittee.house.gov/

He's working closely with Congressman Rangel on this: http://resourcescommittee.house.gov/News/PRArticle.aspx?NewsID=3

Seems like there might be some Enron and Halliburton jurisdiction in Congressman Rahall's committee, too ...

P.S. He made the folks back home in Beckley, WV mighty proud today.

1. This looks loke a good bill
It's time to end the free ride for big oil.
With the deficit, peak oil and the instability in the MidEast,it is time for our country to start funding alternative energy research and devolopement on a massive scale.
The best way to reign in the excesses of the oil companies is to render them obsolete.Making them fund their own demise seems like a nice way to go about it in my opoinion.

2. The Holy Grail of Clean Coal Technology...
... looks like it might have a bone or two thrown to it by this: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.00006:

; )

Now, I'm sure that has *nothing* to do with the coal reserves found in Southern West Virginia.

4. Replicating the Search
It's HR6. Be sure to set the radio button to "Bill Number," to change the search criteria. Thanks for the heads-up!

Best,
