Poll question: Why do you watch Tweety's show?
As much as I love the political current events aspect of Hardball, I just can't watch anymore.

Tweety drives me up the fricken wall with his conservative bias.

And the times he's seemingly on our side about something, he comes across in a sarcastic way.

So I'm done....I haven't watched since last spring.

Fortunately I have DU, C&L and other sources to keep me posted on anything noteworthy that happens on the show.

But I just can't watch.

I'm curious....can you? And why?

1. So "Tweety's show" is Hardball?
Who's Tweety?

Isn't it 'Hardball with Chris Matthews'? Is Matthews Tweety? Why? What's his show like? (Not that I'll ever watch it even if I find out.)

3. I'm going to start a thread someday soon, that is entirely inspired
by Chris Matthews. Well, inspired by Chris Matthews and my slimy neighbors. And no DUer better steal this from me until I do! But, I was thinking about how I've lived in neighborhoods that were in three different class levels, and how shocked I was to discover that I encounter the slimiest people, and most distrustful people, the higher up I go in the social echelons. Okay, there are exceptions, but very, very few. So, I thought I'd coin this phenomena, like we've coined "Murphy's Law" to mean, whatever can go wrong, does go wrong; and "Peter's Principle" for people rise to their level of incompetence. So, I wanted to call it the Nantuckett Measure, the observation that you can measure the level of someone's ability to sell-out, the higher his property value.

What do you think?

4. Because he's on before KO
and I don't want to forget to flip the channel at 6. Bad excuse, I know, but hey, I forget what I'm doing half the time.

5. Tweets doesn't like the war, but he likes his tax cuts...
and still tends to be somewhat conservative on the social front. He is like Lou Dobbs. They are what is known as "anti-liberal". They don't like conservatives, but still have very strong hostilities towards progressivism.

9. It depends on the guests and/or issues
I never watch it just for Tweety, he annoys the hell out of me but if there's an interesting topic or discussion going on, then I tune in.

11. Depends on the guests
David Ignatius and other Koolaid drinkers posing as "moderates" turn my stomach.

12. For all the criticism Tweety gets here, there's many others who are worse
and I take it and him with a grain of salt. Sometimes he infuriates me and sometimes I say "Right-On"--you never know with Matthews.

14. My husband made a comment today when Hardball was on
He said "This guy is like a member of the family. He's in the house every day! We should be exchanging Christmas cards!"

Yeah, I watch. He's the guy I love to hate. But I cannot abide the sight of BO or Hannity & Co.
