1. Watching! The first candidate I ever voted for.
He still speaks for me. All these years. "We can't continue this slaughter." Then or now, sir. :applause:

4. Yes...and he didn't have a chance against Dick...
but can you find a single Rethug who would say," I guess I should have voted for McGovern."? Not a prayer...

In college I was part of the GOTV drive in Rochester, NY on election night. This gal and I realized that there wasn't a prayer, went for a drink, and went to bed. The night wasn't a total loss.

11. He's the first one I voted for, too.
I didn't vote in 1968 because I was so pissed off about Chicago.

5. He and co-author....
last name, Polk; they were on C-Span the other day talking about their new book. I forget the title but it is a solid plan on how to exit Iraq. He talked about their also being a "Council of Elders" he meets with too. A collection of retired politicians of both republican and democratic experience. Sounds like a needed collection of wisdom!

12. I saw them on Cspan
It was excellent. They have a solid plan but it's getting no press. I get so tired of people saying that the democrats don't have a plan.

35 years ago. Wish I was back there again...a better time. We had hundreds of thousands willing to take to the streets to right a wrong. We had a voice that could not be ignored.

As Dylan wrote "Ah, but I was so much older than, I'm younger than that now."

13. George was great.
The man still has "it" after all these years. And it was quite obvious, even without his comment, that he likes and admires Keith.

The ONLY thing wrong that I found with the segment was Keith's intro, where he said that McGovern was a highly decorated WWII fighter pilot. McGovern was highly decorated for his actions during WWII, but he was a bomber pilot (B-24), not a fighter pilot.

Talk to a vet of the European Air War and you'll be quickly corrected if you make that mistake. There was and still is a bit of rivalry between those who flew those positions.
