Why Does It Take over 3 years
and over 3000 american troop deaths for people to recognize that this war is a mistake?

I truly am at a loss. How does it take so long for people to understand that wars not based upon immediate protection are a huge mistake?

What a shift in the energies that are being spent. From unending war to this.

Life can be a good thing.

1. It's not a mistake. It's been extremely successful, in fact.
Bush's War in Iraq is going exactly the way they planned it.

Just as the comming war with Iran will.

2. I really see Congress reasserting
themselves - both houses - and preventing the next destructive pre-emptive action. I really do.

4. Why did it take over 3 yrs form the people to recognize this war
was based NOT on what those in power say it is, but on what it really is (lies and fearmongering to make money for those making money off it) and so is going just peachy?

5. Because people watch shit like "24", Fox News and CNN.
It brainwashes people into thinking that the government can do no wrong.

I mean, have you ever watched the show "24"? I did once, and found myself rooting for the lead character that was played by Kiefer Sutherland. Even after he punched out an ACLU lawyer who was defending someone who was accused of terrorist activities I found myself wringing my hands and agreeing with that course of action.

That's pretty fucked up.

It's the crap that TV perpetuates; the fantasy that we really want to believe. That there are people that bright – that all-knowing – in our government, and that we must trust and support them regardless of how many rights they take away, and how many of our phones that they tap.
