Anyone logging in from Eastern Oklahoma?
I haven't seen the few folks I know from that area lately on DU, but was wondering if someone else was here and could give me an update on conditions in or around Wagoner. I have family in that area that I haven't been able to contact for almost a week and am getting really worried.

1. When I saw your post,
I called my mom who lives in Muskogee County. She said some are saying that the ice storms of the past week were worse than the ice storms of 2000. Lots of trees broken, but power is mostly restored. :hi:

2. I'm in Western Arkansas, not Eastern Oklahoma, but our local
TV station reported road crews are still working in Oklahoma and that not all power has been restored. I can't say for sure about the area around Wagoner.

3. I went through eastern OK on Wednesday. Ran across 412, north of Wagoner.
The ice storm hit just at the OK/Arkansas border and I was on the Cherokee Turnpike (412). I pulled into the plaza to get coffee and when I pushed on the door, it was locked. Then I read the sign that the region was without electricity and to continue west another 15 miles for gas, food, etc. I would guess that folks are still without power. There was about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of ice. We saw convoys of electrical trucks from other parts of the country and electric poles snapped in two. TV says most won't have power back until this weekend ... and there's another storm coming.
