House members bitching about five day work week
Democrat Steny Hoyer versa Roy Blunt. Reasons given is they work hard everyday, while I'm seeing an empty house. Congressmen and Women work hard in their communities. I haven't seen any.

11. Six years of 3 day work weeks and long vacations and
they think they did a great job and lots of work. Those guys spent half of that time naming federal buildings and reading the obits of the soldiers they let be sacrificed in this war based on lies.

3. This whining will make great campaign footage.

Edited to add that Dems could get a lot of legislation passed if they wanted to by holding out Fridays off every week if you vote for our bills. Bet there are enough of those RW slackers who would sell their souls for a 4 day work week.

7. I'd say to Steny let anyone who wants to bitch about the work week
get up there and give them all the time they want so that they are on the record explaining to their constituents why they should work a shorter week than your average mechanic or dishwasher. Then ask them to vote on a shorter work week and really get them on record. Now that would be a party line vote, I venture.

8. I didn't know you'd posted and I also did but what I heard was Hoyer agreeing
and a great big love fest between Hoyer and Blunt.

10. Hoyer was agreeing that the House works hard not that they should work less days
Sounded like Hoyer was trying to get the Repugs to cry some more. They did.

16. Good, I thought he was agreeing that they worked too hard and was
considering letting them go back to 3 days. I feel better.

12. No problem
I'm also reminded that the Dems have done more in these 100 hrs. than the rethugs have done in twelve years.

13. The GOP just needs to get over it. Pelosi established the hours already, did she not?
I can see short work weeks from time to time, but if Americans have to work 40+ hours a week, often multiple jobs, just to try to make ends meet, our elected representatives need to be working just as hard.

And that doesn't mean taking golf vacations over in Scotland.

Pelosi is a very hard worker, and she has an agenda that she wants to complete. I've very impressed with her so far, we've needed someone like her for a long time. If she hadn't said impeachment was off the table, I'd just about say she was perfection.

15. I wish the nightly corporate whore news would cover this stuff
and it would be repeated on the late night news because there are a lot of middle and upper management types out there who are working 50-80 hours a week and are never separated from their Blackberries for the remaining hours who really need to see this.

That's the part of the working class who think Repugs are on their side.

Ha.
