or something? :shrug: And if so, why does she perform so terrifically bad on most internet polls? who supports her on the Internet? Where are those people, cause I've only seen like 5 here at DU.

So since the media is all a-fluttered on the Internet Queen, please share what you know about Sen. Clinton's Internet base. Where do these people hang out? I wanna see what they are talking about without being forced to go to her website.....cause that would be too biased a place!

Weird that the media would give substance to the notion that Hillary announced on the Internet because she is internet savvy...which is what they said. Personally, I had been reading how Hillary does NOT have an internet base......because most in the base cannot stand her.

formal announcement, which will happen with an audience. There's papers to be filed and blocks to be checked.

Barack Obama did the same thing in setting up his committee.

If you don't like her, don't support her. No need to be snarky in your commentary.

You might want to work to advance the agenda of the individual you favor, rather than tear another Democrat down. It's simply unproductive and causes dissention where more isn't needed, frankly.

I don't work for her, I don't have access to her campaign strategy or her mailing lists.

She certainly raises plenty of money, from the internet as well as snail mail.

Internet "peeps" are not an insignificant portion of the electorate, but they're no more or less important than other groups, many of whom (like the elderly, churchgoers, outdoorsy types, people who work two jobs, for example) don't live on the internet, and check their email maybe twice a week--if at all.

Plenty of those peeps were MIA when it came time to vote for Howard Dean--they made promises and didn't deliver for the guy. So, I wouldn't overrate them, or underrate them. They're there, they have a role, but they certainly don't own the process. Any candidate who ignores them isn't taking full advantage, but any candidate who invests too much time in them at the expense of those out there slogging around in the real world is making a HUGE mistake. There's no substitute for grassroots...netroots is a starting point, but grassroots gets it done.
