Where is Leonard Bayard?

A company registered in Oregon and bearing his name owned an executive jet the CIA is reported to have used to transport terrorist suspects to foreign countries for interrogation -- the so-called "extraordinary rendition" program.

But a retired political science professor said Bayard does not exist and news organizations and human rights groups have failed to find him.

Now the disciplinary counsel for the Oregon State Bar is pressing forward with an investigation of Portland lawyer Scott Caplan by asking him, just who is Leonard Bayard and did you represent him?

I think the number has been changed since then to throw peace activists off the CIA's trail.

There's another Gulfstream jet, registration number N85VM, owned by Boston Red Sox partner Phillip H. Morse. He charters out the plane to the CIA for secret government missions when he's not using it, and has admitted as much in The Boston Globe. This plane was reportedly used to transport terrorism suspect Osama Moustafa Hassan Nasr to Cairo from Milan, where he was kidnapped by CIA agents in 2003. Apparently, the CIA agents were big spenders, plunking down over $140,000 for hotel bills at five-star establishments during the operation, and now they are wanted for arrest in Italy over the kidnapping charge.
