Medal of Freedom Nominee: General Shinseki
Edited on Sun Jan-21-07 10:48 AM by CorpGovActivist
What is the essence of freedom, if not speaking truth to power?

So, where's the Medal of Freedom for Eric Shinseki, the "retired" four-star general who told the President and the Congress the truth about the troop levels necessary to warrant that "Mission Accomplished" banner?

Since W doesn't have the true Texas grit necessary to make the award, I hope the next President sends a clear signal by giving the award to General Shinseki.

1. It would be innapropriate, since it is a CIVILIAN award
And he has every military big non-combat award given, not to mention several combat decorations as well.

6. Yeah, Tommy Franks got one for leaving Al-Qaa Qaa ammo dump unsecured.
Franks had barely been off of active duty when he got one.

So what's YOUR beef with General Shinseki?

3. He'll probably lose his military pension along with demotion.
George Fucking Tenet got a Medal of Freedom for giving thousands of Americans death sentences by supplying ABSOLUTELY WRONG intel.
