Anyone Seen the New WalMart PR Commercial: "When WalMart Comes to Town, It's Like a Pay Raise?"

I just sat through what was probably the longest string of BS on TV I've seen in a long time. WalMart has a new PR commercial out, touting how wonderful the company is, how when they come to town thousands of jobs are created, how they save the average American family over $2000. Lots of smiling, happy WalMart employees. A tearjerker for sure, they chronicle WalMart's founding and show pics of Sam Walton, very sentimental and all. An all-American company.

They also announce www.walmartfacts.com.

Anyone else see this hack job?

1. My husband and I saw this the other night. He's never 100% agreed with my insistence on a family

boycott of WM, however, even he was remarking on the high level of BS on this commercial.

It's so ludricrous to anyone who has worked at, known someone who worked at or who has shopped at WM, that it almost seems like Daily Show satire. MKJ

2. Pay raise? Not if you work at a local retail outlet

...cause if you do, it looks more like a pink slip.

You just have to be willing to enslave the people in your community to work there. Turn a blind eye to the predicament of your next door neighbor and jump on the happy place Wallymart "infomercial" bandwagon.

3. I hit the mute button every time it comes on

The attempt to sanctify Walton is particularly nauseating. He was a vicious anti-union creep, he played some very questionable games with local politicians to destroy competition, and he laid the groundwork for wally world's abandonment of American manufacturers for cheap Chinese crap. All the grainy sappy black and white photographs in the world won't change the slimy hiistory of this outfit.
