For up to $600 a day, private security contractors in Iraq's war zone put their lives on the line to protect V.I.P.s and transport critical supplies. Now, Explorer travels alongside three teams of these mercenaries on missions in the "kill zone" to reveal street rules of defense, tools for surviving ambushes and preparedness for the unexpected. See how specially designed vehicle armor and customized weapons help these mercenaries survive being targeted by insurgents.

4. Your post will bring out all the contractor haters.

I've known a few who went back to Afganistan and Iraq as contractors. They were just men who had been woefully underpaid for their service as regular military and now could get a chance come up with a substantial house downpayment for their family. In other words, they were just working folk trying to get ahead by taking a dangerous job.
