I saw sometihng about Gore and remembered a rumor I've heard a few times now.
A couple of people who know people in his circle have mentioned this:
The reason he has not given that I absolutely will not run speech is because he is going to see how the run up to the primaries play out. He has long had a feud with HRC and it's well known they do not like each other at all.
If it looks like she is going to win the primaries and has no real competition, then his people say he will get in.

I heard this today on some Sunday Talk show (cannot remember which one) and I've heard it a few times before.
I cannot verify how correct this is or if it's just the rumor going around.
I just thought the People holding out hope for Gore would be interested but, please remember, this is just a rumor so far and I cannot verify it.

1. If he is going to get in, I sure hope he doesn't wait
until Clinton seems to have the primaries won. That'd be a waste.

4. i've held out hope on the basis
that i have not heard any unequivocal denials from him; if somebody has, i'd like to know?

I believe quite strongly that Al Gore is the Best Choice for president at this time. i really hope he runs

5. That would be running for all the WRONG reasons!
Presidential campaigning isextremely difficult, and for anyone to run for any reason other than they really believe THEY would be the BEST AT THE JOB is a big mistake!

IF he decides to run again, and I don't think he will, he must do it because hebelieves HE is better qualified than any other Dem candidate! If he does it for any other reason, he'll lose.

6. that's stupid and i don't believe it
he will run just because of some feud with Hillary. but only if it looks like nobody else would be able to beat her ? that makes him seem petty .

but i don't believe it anyways.

8. sounds like a rushism to me (he always pushes stuff like this)
Lets check the logic. Has been on the record as far back as 2002 about the extreme stress of the 2000 campaign - and not sure that he would want to go through that ever again. But - according to this rumour - he would subject himself to that, not because he would want to win per se - but just to spite Hillary and give her campaign fits?

Puhleeze.

That's what I've heard, too.

9. I've heard exactly the OPPOSITE from people who know him
That he likes Hillary, and that if she is doing well he will stay out, but if she starts to fail, he may step in, because he doesn't trust any of the other candidates.

I wonder which of our rumors based on unnamed sources is correct? Who knows, I guess there's no real point in guessing, is there?
