Poll question: Would you vote for John Edwards if he got the Dem nomination for 2008?
The difference between polls asking how you would vote if Hillary Clinton, Zell Miller, or Joe Lieberman won the Dem nomination for president?

No difference whatsoever. You can argue about "realism," but perception is reality, and we can't predict the future. You don't know if Hillary wins the nomination. You don't know if John Edwards or Barack Obama or Al Gore wins the nomination. You don't know. It's all hypothetical.

All of them, at this point in time are hypothetical polls. This isn't the New Hampshire primary. This isn't the Iowa Caucus. These are fucking polls on a messageboard in the internet. There are no risks involved in an internet poll, but there most certainly are in a real-life voting booth.

That alone, COULD MEAN the person who voted in one manner on an internet poll may end up voting in a different matter in a REAL VOTING BOOTH.

1. Not sure. I just don't trust him. Not to be mean or anything but,
he seems a bit of an opportunist. I really try to like him but, cannot get rid of that feeling. Something just not right.
I really dislike Hillary
I'd vote for anyone else running

2. Out of all the Dems running for President so far, I'd vote for
any of them on Election Day, and proudly so.

I might not agree with each of them on every single issue, but we have a good group of people running imho.

3. I'd really like Gore but, since that's a dream I do like most of them
and I keep trying to like Edwards. I really do.

10. I agree Lex, with perhaps one exception.
Joe Biden sticks in my craw.

Still, I'd vote for him over any Republican or third party.

17. I have to agree with you on that one.

But yes, he still beats a vote for a Republican.

12. He's one of my top three choices.
I will vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever he/she is. I would never vote for Lieberman or Zell Miller -- I don't consider either one of them Dem's.

4. Nearly everybody here will vote for who wins the primary
Let's focus on that first. I'm sure as shit not putting McCain or that nutcase Guiliani in the White House. Or Brownback or Brownbeck or whatever that theocrat from Kansas is called.

9. Exactly!
I am a registered Democrat posting on Democratic Underground and I will vote for whomever or whatever is the November 2008 Democratic candidate because I cannot fathom another Republican President on any terms.

Now, if you want to discuss my vote in the primary. . . :)

8. I would hold my nose and vote for him.
Although I don't find him as repugnant as Hillary, I'm not a huge fan. We could do better and we could do worse than Edwards.

21. i think edwards has the potential to be a v. exciting candidate
he's more physically beautiful than jfk and he has actually done more for the poor, i feel like jfk was to some extent more perception than reality

in a celebrity based culture we could do hella worse than a photogenic, well spoken CARING candidate like edwards
