Jan 29, 2005 Bush says America will leave if asked....well, Maliki asked...
President George W Bush has said for the first time that the United States will leave Iraq if asked to by the newly-elected government after tomorrow's poll.

Mr Bush was pressed on whether America would leave if it received a request and responded: "Yeah absolutely. This is a - you know, it's a sovereign government. They're on their feet," he said.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki proposed to President George W. Bush in November to withdraw US troops from Baghdad and let the Iraqi government take over security in the capital, a US newspaper reported.

Citing interviews with several unnamed administration officials, the Washington Post wrote that Maliki made the suggestion in a presentation to Bush on November 30 in Amman, Jordan.

But soon after, Bush rejected the idea, the paper said.

1. The answer is simple
Bush confused 'sovereign' with 'subservient'.

3. I'll never get that 'sovereign' quote out of my head...
"Tribal sovereignty means that; it's sovereign. I mean, you're a — you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And therefore the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 6, 2004

4. Iraq has sovereignty ONLY as long as it agrees with US policy...
We could rule with an Iron Fist, but we choose to be more subtle....

Iraqis need to be more grateful...

7. Absolutely Not!
Too much money at stake. There has been enough corruption and war profiteering for THE FLEECING OF AMERICA to go from a segment to a two hour show running 7 days a week for the next decade or two. Halliburton would use the self destruct button on Cheney's payment pacemaker. Bush wouldn't get any more of those casualty reports that obviously cheer him up. I have never seen anyone get so happy talking about people dying as Bush does. Well okay maybe Charles Manson. He tried to start a war that didn't really pan out either.
