Only 2 yrs. of bush to go, how bad could it be?
My question is packed with optimism in the face of despair, but the question answers itself, it will be very, very bad.

Look at the first 6 years, you tell me how bad it could be. Two whole years of this maniac and his bosses at the wheel of our government, two whole years to destroy America and the atmosphere and the glaciers and the oceans, two whole years and thousands more dead soldiers, and thousands more crippled soldiers, and two whole years more of genocide and U.S. terrorism.

Come on now, how bad could 2 more years possibly be?

1. Well the good news is the Repugs in Congress will not buy into his
crazy ideas like they once did. In this State of the Union he is going to be pushing a Tax Break for People setting up Health Saving Accounts While wanting to call what your company pays for your health insurance INCOME to you and taxable.... This IMHO is DOA from the get go..

2. Don't Forget The Neocon Desperation
we have added to the pot. My guess is that if Congress doesn't act quickly the next two years could be more traumatic than ever. That said, Congress seems to have developed a backbone. Will it grow to be a spine in time to stop the madmen? Hold on to your hats everyone, the near future promises to be quite the roller coaster ride.

4. When you see you will not have the power you work harder
I see Bush and Co. getting with even more madness. But with all waves it will turn over and go the other way or it seems to be how things have always worked. Some thing bad under the bad has always been a great tool for the ones in power to use.

10. I am sure they do. I think Bush and Co. live out side the world
we see. These people have always been around and really some one under the bed has always been with us. As a kid I used to have night mares about the Germans landing on the rocks out side the home I lived in on the water front. Could be, we had the CG walking past the house with guns, street lights painted over and car lights and black out curtains that made me think like this. Was it a real thing to worry about? There were German subs along the East Coast. Also a Fr. Vichy sub is said to have loaded up at the local sub base but one is never sure it was just not a story as I am sure it is not info out in the open. It has always been some thing.

11. Radio Days
Reminds me of that movie, when kids swear they saw a U-boat off Coney Island. And who knows, maybe they did.

14. We used to hear things like that as kids.
We did live in black outs and CG would call if we left the curtains open. I do not recall being worried about Germans but I sure had the night mares, so it must have been put into my mind. Until '45 I do not recall not hearing we were at war some place or that the Brits. were. Course being born in '34 and going to the movies a lot I would think that the world was at war just as a general thing. My father's work also put him into local bases and POW camps and that one It. one near us really made my eyes bug out as a child. Also WW2 was every place and in every home so you could hardly get away from it. It did not take much to put a fear of being bombed like in Eur. into a kids mind. Not sure about adults. Many really hated the Japanese and Germans and my mother said we could not do that as they were not bad people only their leaders. That must have mixed up a kids mind.

I remember all those Warner brothers war effort cartoons, everybody was into the paranoia.

7. Eh, more of the same.
I get the feeling the wind is out of their sails. Their whole worldview is based on arrogance, and they got spanked so hard in November I think their morale is pretty low. They don't have the troops or money to go off on any new adventures, and their plan for Middle East "liberation" is stalled at phase one.

Bush will try to subvert the Constitution some more, and slide a few more crazies onto the bench, but none of his legislative proposals are going anywhere except directly into the shitcan (that middle-class tax increase for healthcare is ludicrous).

As long as you don't live in Iraq, the suffering will be largely psychological.

Bush-Cheney seem to be taking orders from someone outside America as their unpopularity in America doesn't seem to phase them.
