I'm taking bets that commander dipshit claims that they have irrefutable evidence that the missile was supplied by Iran and we need to take action to go after those weapons.

1. But, if it was supplied by Iran, that means one of our Shia 'allies' in Iraq shot it
Iran would never supply the Sunni resistance with weapons. But it's been no secret that they armed and trained several Shiite militia in Iraq, such as the Badr Brigades. However, those are the very groups that the US military has been working with the most (in fact, IIRC, the Badr Brigades, along with Kurdish Peshmerga, fought on the side of the US during the invasion and subsequent pummeling of Fallujah after the Sunni uprising there).

However, if it was Sunni fighters who shot it, then they were probably supplied by one of our regional 'allies', like Saudi Arabia or even Jordan.

In other words, it's all a bit more complicated over there than Little Boots seems to think...

2. Available on the Black Market
but then there are probably hundreds out there that were taken from ammunition dumps that the Leadership failed to order secured when we invaded Iraq. How many Years is it now since the invasion and the insurgents still seem to have an unlimited suply of ammunition? Guess where they got it from?

3. Oh Boo Hoo! We're being attacked by big bad shoulder-fired missiles!!
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 09:24 AM by Brotherjohn
I'm sorry. I mean no disrespect the American troops who lost their lives... and the horrible loss yet more families have to endure. They are yet more victims of Bush's "legacy". That's not the point of my post.

But what crybabies the Bush administration are! Here we launch an UNPROVOKED INVASION of an entire country with everything we've got (except nukes), the highest technology the weapons industry can provide, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians, de-stabilizing the entire Mid-East, and we complain that the enemy (the enemy WE created) is fighting back with shoulder-fired missiles.

I don't care if the Ayatollah himself came back from the grave and gave the insurgency 100,000 shoulder-fired missiles, all manned by Iranian troops now stationed in Iraq...

What part of GET THE F#&* OUT OF IRAQ doesn't Bush understand?!?!
