NBC Today Show provides a generous minute to Iraq &27 dead Americans
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 09:56 AM by npincus
occuring this weekend...a full 14 minutes into their 7:00AM broadcast! And gave about 10 seconds of that gernerous minute to report a new "unprecedented" tactic unleashed upon our soldiers: in Karbala, an Iraqi death squad infultrated a government compound disguised as Americans, passing through checkpoints- CNN reported they made it through (3) seperate checkpoints-- there they killed 5 Americans, wounded many others. CNN also reported that someone on the "inside" may have helped in this operation.

This should have been the #1 story. This is what the kids we are surging into this death spiral are going to face.

BAGHDAD - The armored sport-utility vehicles whisked into a government compound in the city of Karbala with speed and urgency, the way most Americans and foreign dignitaries travel along Iraq's treacherous roads these days.
Iraqi guards at checkpoints waved them through Saturday afternoon because the men wore what appeared to be legitimate U.S. military uniforms and badges, and they drove vehicles commonly used by foreigners, the provincial governor said.

Once inside the compound, however, the men unleashed one of the deadliest and most brazen ambushes of U.S. forces in a secure, official area. Five U.S. service members were killed in a hail of grenades and gunfire in a breach of security that Iraqi officials called unprecedented.

The attack Saturday came on a day when the United States lost at least 20 other troops, including a dozen in a helicopter crash. It was the third-deadliest day for U.S. forces since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

1. Oh, but they spent about 15 minutes on
American Idol and its resident idiots. Talk about newsworthy! As we all know, the future of the free world hangs on what nimrods are willing to do to get on TV.

3. "Today" spent time on American Idol?
Isn't AI on Fox? Usually the morning infotainment shows plug only those shows that are on their own network.

4. well, they led the show with a Hillary-thon
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 10:10 AM by npincus
no offense to Hillary, but who gives a fuck? NBC ran a clip showing all of the past "controversies" (Hillary slamming Tammy Wynette... bla bla bla, all the old, tired shit). THAT was more newsworthy than our sons and daughters dying for NOTHING in Iraq.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on all of them. Karma will bite them in the ass.

6. Can we give AI a break, for once? It's not like it's the only show on TV.

7. "unprecedented"??!
They mean something AMERICANS have never done & never would do? Like dress as GERMANS, for instance?

Good grief, this "American exceptionalism" crap is something else.

9. "Am-news-ia"
In their relentless efforts to "disconnect the dots" they like to say that things that happen on a regular basis "have never happened before." They love words like: unthinkable, unimaginable and unprecendented. And the phrase: no-brainer.
