Did you know? Washington and Lincoln "authorized electronic surveillance."
Alberto: President Washington, President Lincoln, President Wilson, President Roosevelt have all authorized electronic surveillance on a far broader scale.

Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 10:50 PM by ocelot
Did he stick the key at the end of Ben Franklin's kite string into his ear?

I'm so glad we have such a bunch a freaking rocket scientists running our government.....

13. welll, apart from the fact that they DIDN'T have telegraph in washington's
day, just for starters. and please explain how in the hell one eavesdrops on a telegraph machine realistically.

this is just one more example of how ignorant the entire administration appears to be, and worse, how f****** stupid they think the rest of us are.

is about the level of their defense of their indefensible behaviour, even if you did mean it sarcastically.

welcome, by the way--if I have so far failed to do so.

14. telegraphs?? in the 1700s??

"The first electromagnetic telegraph was created by Baron Schilling in 1832. The first commercial electrical telegraph was constructed by Sir Charles Wheatstone and Sir William Fothergill Cooke and entered use on the Great Western Railway. It ran for 13 miles from Paddington station to West Drayton and came into operation on April 9, 1839. It was patented in the United Kingdom in 1837."

at Mount Vernon Estate when I was a kid - the idea of wooden teeth grossed me out!

Thanks for the info - glad I didn't know this as a child, the idea of "someone else's teeth" would've grossed me out too! :-)
