"Christian Defense" miffed that Bush commented on mosque, not Alabama
WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 /Christian Wire Service/ -- In a press release last week the Christian Defense Coalition asked "what the response of the White House would have been if ten abortion clinics were burned in eight days? Or, ten mosques?" Today we have the answer. It took just hours for the President to rightly respond to the damage to one mosque.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments, "The Christian Defense is very disappointed that President Bush has not publicly spoken out on the church burnings in Alabama. Sadly, these attacks may now be spreading to Christian businesses and other Christian places of worship. With an entire community living in fear, it is important that Mr. Bush provide leadership and assurance that the federal government is doing all within their power to apprehend those behind these hate filled attacks.

"The White House needs to send a clear message to the American public when a church is attacked we are all attacked. And, when a church is attacked faith and religious expression are under attack. I am troubled by the lack of the public response by the White House especially when one considers how they may have responded if ten abortion clinics were burned in eight days. Our message to the President is simply do the right thing and publicly condemn these church fires and assure us that this administration will not tolerate attacks on faith."

1. I find these church attacks disturbing...
What's the motive, honestly?

2. The more I read this "Defense coalition" demanding attention...
...the more I would investigate the "inside angle" job. Since both black and white churches have been attacked, I don't think it's a racial issue. Theory: lone neandrethal watches Fox, thinks Christian church is "under attack" ("war on Christmas" etc.), sets bunch o' fahrs to make it appear that it's so. Just one possibility among many.

3. Yeah...I think it's possible, actually.
Very few possible motives make as much sense as that one...not that it does either, but I'm hard-pressed to think of anything else that works.

4. Conspiracies.
Could it be an "inside" job? That is always possible. However, whenever I have seen churches attacked it is usually because of their stance on gays or because they were "Black" churches. I don't know enough about the churches that have been attacked, but is it possible they (the "white" ones) were attacked because they were seen as 'race-traitors?' What I mean, is did they also have Black parishioners? Were they active in civil rights issues? That could also be a possible motivation. Then, there is the "stupid" factor...some people are just stupid and hate-filled.

5. I've got my tinfoil hat on about this.
Been wondering if the church arsonists are going to find a way to make it appear that the burnings were done by "godless librul babykiller Democrats".

'Cause, y'know, we all spend our time killing babies and trying to destroy religion. :sarcasm:

6. I'll raise you another sheet of tinfoil...
Considering the bat-shit crazy reactions over the Islamaphobic cartoons (the burnings and killings, not peaceful protests), I would not be surprised if it were people trying to make it look like it was Muslims (or the Mossad...had to throw that in) attacking Christians in the US.

7. I hadn't thought of that angle before.
Now you've done it - my tinfoil hat will be so large I won't be able to get through the door.
