Dear Leader is now down to his core following: CEOs, Freepers and unfortunates in persistent vegetative states.

All is not lost, though — the New York Times can't help but find the silver lining in Bush's free-fall:
Previous presidents have had similar or worse numbers as their nadirs. The Gallup Poll had a 24 percent approval rating for Richard M. Nixon in July 1974. The low point for Jimmy Carter in polls conducted by The Times and CBS News was 26 percent in July 1979. Times/CBS News polls showed George Bush with 34 percent in June 1992 and Bill Clinton with 36 percent in September 1994.
Way to frame it, Liz Bumiller!

Let's see how Bush stands up to other historic figures:

Torquemada: 21%

Baron Harkonnen: 18%

Vlad the Impaler: 15%

Typhoid Mary: 6%

So you see, it's all good news for Bush. There's no place to go but up!

Vlad Tepes  acquired  a fearsome reputation as a result of his immense cruelty and the  propaganda that was spreading  throughout Europe to discredit him in the decades following his death.

1. Vlad was a much snappier dresser, though.

2. Bush reminds me of Typhoid Mary. She was in denial
about how harmful she was as well.

3. I wonder how he'd do against Jeffrey Dahmer.
At least George doesnt eat people. He uses and destroys them but I doubt if he cannabalizes them afterwards. But then Im not really sure about that.

5. I think in some ways Vald's getting a bum rap when compared to scrub
I mean...
1) They both killed thousands of people. Although I think scrub killed more.
2) They both approved of torturing their enemies...real and perceived.
3) They both had hissy fits when people didn't do what they wanted. Although I'll have to agree that Vlad was worse. When the Turk didn't take off his head gear Vlad had it nailed to his head. When the Korean reporters sat down on the couch scrub just gave them a look like he wanted to nail them to the couch.
4) They both used religion to help their achieve their goals.
5) They both made alliances with un-principled governments.
