Bye bye, "Boondocks"
The Washington Post announced today in its Reliable Source column that Aaron McGruder, creator of "The Boondocks" comic strip, is taking a six-month leave from doing the strip. Boondocks is carried in 350 papers. The last original strip will appear March 26.

"Every well needs occasional refreshing," is what McGruder wrote to papers that carry the comic strip.

You don't think he's been politically pressured, do you?

15. Yeah, it is.
It's kind of a parody of those crime solving cartoons sponsored by fast food restaurants and such. The show started off with them solving mysteries, but has kind of changed into a bizarre Seinfeldesque show about nothing. Very weird, but very funny.

17. oh dear god it is the funniest cartoon ever, it's about 3 superheros
that are food, a giant order of fries, a big meatball and a shake, it sounds ridiculous but i swear it is just absolutely hilarious. If you have comcast cable it's available on-demand for free.

20. OK, I have to admit I lke ATHF but I don't know why. I guess I
don't get it.

Can you help me. Like the show when Frylock got transported up to the alien ship and they kept trying to melt him. Those 2 aliens cracked me up.

But overall I don't get the show. I know it doesn't make sense for me to watch something that I don't get but it cracks me up. Meatwad reminds me of my little brother somehow. I don't know.

Can you just help a sistah understand ATHF?

23. i don't really get it either but i guess we both kind of do
it mostly makes no sense but you just take each episode as it's own show, they never seem linked. the one constant usually is that their neighbor Carl is going to die at the end of each one.

10. Love that toon.
Never have I seen a cartoon so consistently brilliant. I'm a big Simpsons fan, but I think that the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad all pale in comparison to what Boondocks has been putting out on a regular basis. It's so rare to see a cartoon that tackles important issues both intelligently and in such a hilarious manner. John Witherspoon and Regina King do such an awesome job with their voice work and the guest spots with Mos Def, Samuel Jackson and others are consistently top notch. If there was a toon award show, Boondocks should win top honors.

6. Cartoon Network already asked for 20 more episodes
to go along with the original 15 (only 10-11 have been shown so far).

30. I couldn't get into the cartoon either
Watched a few episodes, and stopped. I love the strip, though-- I guess I was expecting the cartoon to be more overtly political.

29. He's probably going to take a break and then work on the tv show.
Good for him...the TV show is at least as important, even if it doesn't get as much exposure.

His Return of the King episode was the best thing I've seen on tv all year.
