Best thing for dems: Port deal goes through?
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 06:07 PM by Gabi Hayes
any guesses why?

seems pretty obvious

that said, the key question may become: how best to capitalize on this during the elections

it would be so sweet to take one of the houses, and start investigating at least SOME of the myriad depredations committed over the last five years

this could be the best hook upon which to hang such dreams

1. port deal OKed would help us but
bush has been like a gift from the heavens to Democrats.

You couldnt design a better Dem booster than Bush and his presidency. You couldnt dream him up ! I dont want him impeached yet. That would be too kind.

Maybe after his 8 years we can put him in prison.

3. That might be great in theory
But meanwhile, people are dying, cities are drowning, seniors going without medication, law-abiding citizens being spyed upon.

What's the price we have to pay to convince Americans that he is a horrible president?

8. * has been a gift, but the Dems are unable to capitalize on it.
As Whoopie one said on Real Time, "not a ball between them."

2. I agree. If we have to impeach the jerk to get control of our ports, fine.
You go, George. Just stay inside that bubble. Everything's fine, george. Everyone loves you. We'll take care of everything. Don't worry.

5. Repukes will be branded as pro-terrorist
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 05:55 PM by StopThePendulum
if the port deal goes through. This Dubai port scandal will expose the repukes as the traitorous terrorist sympathizers they act like--especially if there's another terrorist attack in one of the port cities Dubai Ports World would control.

10. Well, the short answer is...
because we can use it to shift the debate on national security to favor us more.

11. Yeah, I guess it would also help the Dem's if 100 troops a day were killed
in Iraq up to the election!

But neither would be good for our country.

12. I think it's kind of a win-win.
Except for the possible terrorist infiltration part . . . but, no one's looking at the cargo anyway, so does it matter?
