The Vice-President Shot a Guy in the Face and Nobody Even Cares

Iraq is falling into Civil War. Katrina tapes proves that Bush lied about what he knew and when he knew it about that upcoming disaster. Bush was unaware of a port deal that compromises our security, then publicly supports it.

I guess I have to agree now with O'Riely. Cheney shooting is no big deal. Especially when you compare it to the disastrous Bush decisions and events in the last two weeks.

a bad reputation due to its secrecy and deceifulness. I agree Katrina and Iraq are more important, but the Cheney shooting was a political and PR disaster.

Cheney didn't shoot anyone while carrying out his official duties as the veep. He was a private citizen on vacation, for all intents and purposes. However much we may dislike the man, the shooting had NOTHING to do with the Bush administration.

17. It has a lot to do with the insistence of the people in the administration

that they are somehow above the law or not required to be held to the same standards or laws as everyone else. How this was handled was definitely a reflection on a group of people who seem to think they are above accountability. Lie, cheat, steal, allow people to die based on lies, watch people die while withholding aid, or shoot someone in the face and not go through the same legal process as the rest of the citizenry, it all reflects a level of moral poverty that is breathtaking.

THAT is why * and Cheney are detested thoroughly, and might I add, by a growing number of people. The record of every Republican member of Congress who has helped implement and maintain the lies and cover for this administration wears the equivalent of the stain on the blue dress. They will pay too.

My take is that this is one puritanical part of the planet. Murder, war, the indiscriminate

10. Perhaps a lot of people don't care about the person he shot.

I know I feel not so much sympathy for him as I would a Katrina victim. Mr. Cheney's action should be investigated by a Congressional committee, but it won't be, because those Republicans Mr. Whittington spent a lifetime adoring and contributing to don't really give much of a shit about him either.

who apologized for getting shot. Cheney lied about the circumstances and the "eyewitness". This was a screwed up situation but not on the scale of what the Shrub has done.

Cheney being behind destroying V. Plame and her covert Operation and attempting to discredit Joe Wilson is more important, as well.

that everything that comes along, we're supposed to 'get over it' after the requisite news cycle, including the Plame outing, while Democrats continually get pounded over shit that happened years ago.

Thankfully, people around here, and other places, are finally getting tired of it and yelling back, No I won't get over it until I get some real facts and information and not just Repug spin. Finally, we have reporters asking real questions in the press conferences. Finally, we are managing to get the chimp into situations that are nightmares to him, where he has to answer real questions. The more often we can get his mumbling face on the television in unscripted venues the better.

DU at least keeps the pot bubbling, hopefully until the MSM acknowledges some of this crap.
