Torie Clarke: "I can forgive the American People"

She appeeared on CNN's The Situation Room today. Ms. Clarke gave us all a very clear picture of what she (and those just like her) really think of the American people. She says she can forgive us for being so upset about the port deal because we're too busy and wrapped up in our own little lives to pay attention and get the facts. Basically, she said we're clueless.

I looked for the exact words in the rush transcript but couldn't find them. I did find this quote though:

"Ports are important. Foreign companies aren't controlling the ports. This continues to be a case where people get hysterical every day without getting the facts."

18. Every time I see Victoria Clarke, I think of

the days of the actual US invasion of Iraq. She was on TV constantly, promoting whatever the moment's talking points were. I remember her referring to the Iraqi opposition as "terrorist death squad thugs". She used the phrase every single time she referred to them. It made me chuckle because it seemed like they would've added "poopie pants" to the end if they could fit it on the memo.

I remember wondering at the time what sort of contempt a person would have to hold for the public, to use such juvenile, shallow language. They all seem to have that same attitude- like everyone on the planet is a moron.

I saw her squeezed in on one of those Sunday Talk Shows last Sunday....sitting with the usual Pundit suspects as they opined as to what is "really" going on according to them. They were useless of course, but she seemed even more so.

As I recall, she faced a town meeting in one Congressman's district (Moran?) where they had to cut the mics and stop the meeting because his constituents were so mad at her! And she sat there in her retina burning coat of many colors rah rahing like a silly war cheerleader, lying her ass off. Remember, 70% of Americans opposed starting a war in Iraq.
