CFIUS ? Should they be dissolved?

Some of the mid-managers of CFIUS (Committee for Foreign Investment in the United States) were before a Congressional committee today. To some, their comments were shocking. They never felt that they had to tell anyone about their decision to approve Dubai's port sale. They never had to get the approval of the President or anyone else. They were just a bunch of interested "capitalists" that were created to bring in investment. They were not really experts on "national security". Some have suggested they should no longer be in existence or under much tighter controls.

They fall under the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY so there probably already is some over site. but there should be stronger controls when foreign investment rubs up against national security.

Maybe they can make a multi colored chart to flag good and bad countries. Blue ink "good" countries. Red ink "bad" countries. Green ink "so-so" countries. :sarcasm:
