How do you feel about a nuclear weapon that could be launched from the bac

Back of a jeep (video) 22 minutes

The slightly bizarre idea of 'user-friendly' nuclear weapons. On the whole score of proliferation we're always hearing plenty about the dangers posed by the Irans and North Koreas of this world but, as we're about to see, while all that has been going on the US itself has been quietly beavering away on a program aimed at completely upgrading its nuclear arsenal, including the development of tactical weapons - mini-nukes that could be used on the battlefield. Thom Cookes reports.

First broadcast - Dateline SBS - 03/02/06

2. Not much new
Years ago it was said "Nuclear hand grenades are feasible but a bit hard to throw."

Not because of weight but because of the blast area.

Who knows what goes on in the weapons shops?

4. And we claim we're worried about terrorists getting nukes?
Great idea. Let's put one on a Jeep. No way they'll ever be able to steal that!

MORANS!

6. I worked in the Army's nuke program in the mid 70's
The jeep mounted nuke was called (if memory serves) the "Davy Crockett". The CWO I worked for told me that the jeep had to be pointed in the opposite direction the nuke was to be fired, revved up, and moving like a bat out of hell to get out of range of the fireball before it went off.

Come to think of it, sounds like it was designed by a republican.
