I watch "Comedy Central Presents" and "Reno 911" most nights.
That tides me over from the national news, ending at 7 pm, and Countdown with K.O. at 8 pm. It also keeps me way away from the Tweety Show, thank goodness! Comedy Central Presents is a hodge-podge of stand-up comics, most who are damn good.

Tonight, however, was an exception. There was a shit-sucking asshole (Eddie Brill) on the 7 pm Comedy Central slot tonight. He was not very good, from the get-go. But his depraved Teddy Kennedy jokes sucked. He joked about Kennedy's injuries from an airplane crash "in the mountains" in the early 1960s. Teddy was injured (bad back injuries) in the crash of a chartered Aero Commander at South Hampton, Mass.

ACCIDENT DETAILS

Date: June 19, 1964
Time: 22:00
Location: Southhampton, Massachusetts
Operator: Private - Air Taxi
Flight #: ?
Route: ?
AC Type: Aero Commander 680
Registration: N344S
cn / ln: ?
Aboard: 5 (passengers:4 crew:1)
Fatalities: 2 (passengers:1 crew:1)
Ground: 0
Summary: The plane undershot the runway and crashed while attempting to land IFR at Barnes Airport in low ceiling and fog. Improper IFR operation. Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy critically injured. Kennedy's aid Edward Moss and the pilot killed.

Then he - Eddie Brill - tried to tie the AC680 crash to Chappaquiddick, and the death of an aid in the plane crash to the death of Mary Jo Kopecne. It was not funny and it did not play well to the live audience in NYC.

to put the other side on. The freeper side comics just aren't funny. They are also mean and stupid. You have to be a liberal to be funny, I think, and I engage in gallows humor a lot and Reno 911 has a lot of gallows humor.

6. Reno 911 is pure gallows humor
I crank up the volume and play the "air guitar" as soon as Reno 911 comes on. I really love it when Dangle punches the air with his fists, out in the desert.

7. It's a scream isn't it?
Hubby and I spent a summer in the area, between Reno, Truckee and Tahoe and got to know the local flavor pretty well. It will tell you something about the Reno people that they enjoy Reno 911 a lot as well.
